
This is a fairly quick recipe that will be excellent for a snack, I just had a piece with my morning coffee and now I’m writing up this tasty post for y’all.

So let’s start with the chocolate chip oatmeal bars. The ingredient’s you’ll need are AP Flour, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, baking soda, oats, dark chocolate chips, salt and dark brown sugar. *NOTE: I did not use a stand mixer or beater so you don’t need to use one either.*

Step one: Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease your baking tray. Mix the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. That will include the oats, AP Flour, baking soda and the salt. NOT the dark brown sugar, that will be used in the next step.

Step two: In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter first then mix in the dark brown sugar. Lastly add the vanilla extract & mix it all together.

Step three: Combine the dry & wet ingredients together until it comes together. If the batter is dry, go ahead and add some milk to moisten it. At this point you can fold in the chocolate chips, make sure they are evenly spread.

Step four: Pour the oat mixture into the greased tray, spread evenly. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Once the timer is up, remove from oven and set aside to cool off.

Step Five: Let’s make our yummy caramel glaze now. You will need milk, vanilla extract, butter, dark brown sugar & powdered sugar.

Step six: In a saucepan, on medium heat, combine the milk, butter and dark brown sugar. Bring to a boil while continuously stirring and then turn off heat.

Step seven: Slowly add the powdered sugar little by little. You NEED to stir continuously and keep your focus on the caramel glaze.

Step eight: This is the desired color & consistency I am looking for a glaze.

Step nine: Immediately drizzle caramel glaze over the chocolate chip oatmeal bars. I had mine cut up prior to drizzling the glaze and placed into a tupperware for someone to enjoy. I hope you make this tasty snack and tell all of your friends! Enjoy!

- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup AP flour
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 & 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Caramel Glaze
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (you can add more if you desire)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
